Sprint now has the iphone!

Looking for the cheapest iPhone plan... I'm also thinking about going back to Sprint.  In my experience, Sprint has great service, and plus they have unlimited data still.  The plan I was considering is as follows:

1500 anytime minutes, unlimited text, unlimited data, unlimited mobile to mobile minutes.

This is basically the cheapest family plan sprint offers for the iphone.  This is more than enough for our needs.  The cost here is $149/month + taxes and fees.  One other benefit, is that we get a 20% discount due to my employer, so its more like $120/month + taxes and fees.  This makes the plan only $10/month more than pageplus cellular, and we get unlimited data!

This is definitely in the running.

PagePlus Cellular

Well, Verizon just announced that you can activate your Verizon iphone on PagePlus Cellular.  PPC has a plan that offers unlimited voice, unlimited text, and 300MB data for $55.  That would work jsut great for my wife, as she uses about 300MB of data each month.  I, on the other hand, use about 1.5GB of data each month, which would really add to the cost of this plan.  I might still be able to monitor my usage, and try to switch to using wifi whenever possible.  But, I'm still looking at other options.

Cheap iPhone service... NOT

I had sprint mobile service for many years, and was always very happy with them.  The cost was very reasonable, around $70/month total for two phones.  A few months ago, my wife decided that we had to get iphones.  She is always very thrifty, and I wanted to accommodate this very reasonable request.  So, I did some research, and decided to go with Verizon for our iphones.  I get a 20% discount through my work, so I thought this wouldn't be too bad.  Well, my bills have been more than $200/month for our two lines combined.  This is just totally unreasonable, and is starting to drive me crazy.  I am now on a quest to figure out how to get iphone service for less than $125/month for our two lines.  I don't know if it can be done, but stay tuned...
